I for one am not comfortable with giving out my SSN# but however I have no problem with Charge Cards. Of course adult content should be included just as much as there is adult content on video games you purchase and kids always get there hands on them. I would suggest that any adult oriented activity be confined ONLY to a private personal space,, upon entering adult lmos,,suggestive clothing etc would be accessible but upon leaving to a public space those items would be locked.Just my opinion and I am looking forward to Neotopia in the future.

Neotopia to me would be a place to unwind, chat and hang out when im not busy doing something else e.g. working, hanging out. A place like that would tarnish the reputation of Neotopia in the eyes of everyone who already laughs at Home.

Look at it like this, Neona:

Let's say....you live in a apartment, where you are capable of doing all the things you just mentioned - Unwind, chat and hang out. Your apartment would be considered the general public server. Offering a core, casual experience....tailored specifically just for your enjoyment.

Now, let's say your neighbor's above you in this apartment complex...engage in other guilty pleasures and experiences. You can call this, the adult server. You never go up to visit them...and they never come down to visit you. Neither experience is forced on the other and everyone can have their cake and eat it, too. It's a win-win situation, where everyone get's what they want - A virtual world that offers an experience for everyone...rather than having one defined experience, for all.

Like I said before....would you concern yourself with what your next-door neighbor does on his/her computer, behind closed doors? Would you call the cops on that person, because you dont want people like that in your community? I say, if you are an adult...legit and verified....and you are enjoying your experience on an adult based server....then it is none of anyone's business what you do with your time. Dont worry about what the people "upstairs" are doing. Especially if you never have to see it or participate in it.

Why not have both family friendly AND adult? Simple way to do this...adult things like animations and interaction packs can only be used in a personal space. That would keep people in public, namely kids from enduring it. That may sound restrictive, but think of it, a public with everything home has, even skimpy clothes and so on, but in private you can turn it up a notch. You could even protect people more by a pop up asking if they want to be exposed to it. Like the current "kiss so and so? yes/no".

I've enjoyed watching the poll. LOL. It's been neck-and-neck, since I started it. If anything, it shows me that SO FAR...it's been a pretty even split. Which is cool. So it's not a unanimous consensus, in either direction.

I just hope the comments dont start conflicting into chaos. That's definitely not the kinda attention, I want drawn to this thread...and I'd like to see this poll continue on, thru October. At least.

IDK what Neotopia is gonna be, guys. Assuming it meets funding requirements. But I have a lot of great ideas...and I know ya'll do too. If I had one thing to say to the devs, I would say "Dont be afraid to take risks or cross lines. Dont be afraid to experiment with ideas. Push the envelope. Explore possibilities and dont be afraid to move the goal post, every now and then."

I think Sony missed out on a lot of interesting options and possibilities with Home, because they (for whatever reason) were afraid to take the necessary risks. Maybe they were afraid of bad PR. Or making the wrong headlines. Or upsetting their consumers. IDK. But those fears and concerns held Home back from it's true potential, for so many years. PlayStation Home always quoted it's "family friendly" tag-line, whenever the platform and it's content were in question. Yet, contrary to that...we saw gambling on Home. We saw skimpy outfits (ass cheeks hanging out and augmented breasts) and I dont think anyone will ever forget the V-kiny. LOL. The David Guetta space (for some weird reason) featured chicks spinning on poles and in cages. We had bars and drinking LMO's. We now have kissing interactions, cuddle poses...and the ability to lay with another avatar in beds. We have prop weapons, with limited functionality...and even cyber "gangs" on Home. I never understood how all this content and suggestive themes, passed publication and met Sony's approval with a +13 and up "family friendly" tag-line. You can tell the developers were teasing more mature themes, on Home. It was very obvious. But Sony never let em have that kind of creative freedom.

I dont think this is an issue we will be likely to run into, with Neotopia. Considering it wouldnt be ran by Sony. And that excites me. Im just sayin. I dont think theres ANY reason, why we cant take a very strong look at what other platforms and developers are doing...and try to incorporate some of that into Neotopia. Why should Home and Second Life be the only platforms to do what they did? And Im not counting Free Realms, MiiVerse, Avakin or IMVU. They arent comparable to the degree of Home and Second Life, in terms of accomplishments and platform potential. What these 2 platforms did, was phenomenal...to say the least. We SHOULD be taking ideas from them. We should also be looking at MMO's and what they bring to the table. Online games like GTAOnline and Watch Dogs, should be looked into. These games have little worlds unto themselves, even if it's at the city level...you can see, theres a lot going on there. I think, with the right vision...focus...and development, Neotopia can incorporate the popular points from ALL these things....and offer a wide variety of experiences. There's no reason why we should just settle for one generic, defined experience...governed by strict policy and within certain "parameters."

My belief, is Neotopia should be a place where EVERYTHING is possible. A place where nothing is ever off the table....and the sky is never the limit. ^_-

lol it may sounds bad but it would keep all the pervs in one place, or make them easier to find. Personally I can see the humor on this and would love the chance to Troll up and get my Freak on, Haha!
Okay that looks worse than it sounded in my head, but I'll keep it lol.

My personal problem is mostly with sexual content, on account this would likely lead to Neotopia becoming infamous for this kind of behaviour. This would hinder any new "PG" players coming to neotopia because of this reputation, ultimately hurting the more social based experience. This along with people seeking sexual interaction, inevitably making there way into the non-sexual content servers doesn't seem like favourable perception of Neotopia to expand the community (not to mention the legal trouble this would cause for the developers, with it being a free downloadable game and all).

It's hard for me to say. I have no issue with the content, but the amount of controversy it would generate is unsettling. Even if you age restrict it, it wont make it any less controversial. The controversy would likely deter many people from Neotopia.

I dont understand why. Did that same controversy impact Second Life? Seems to have a thriving population and community, to me. It launched in 2003 (about 5 years before Home) and currently has over a million regular users. Not to mention, it will have outlasted Home...as of next year. Controversy didnt destroy THAT platform....

....so what makes you think it would ruin Neotopia? o_O

You are trying to make Neona seem unreasonable because they feel that having such a server would tarnish the reputation of Neotopia and I tend to agree as well. Learn to respect others opinions instead of trying to make them feel bad and bullying them for not agreeing with you and Its not a matter of how you feel but the general perception people will get if such a thing was allowed. Once word starts getting around that Neotopia has and "Adult server" people will start spreading word that Neotopia is just another porn avatar game and NOTHING more.

Unfortunetly, people love conterversy and gossip and having an adult server would turn into the main focus of all conversations around Neotopia as supposed to events, games and content. Like you said, there's already a place called Secound Life for people who want that kind of experience we dont need that in Neotopia. I choose to live my private life in real life not in a fantasy world and they will not see my support if they allow this.

I have no problem with adult spaces. It would be nice to know I was in a space that had adults only- That I was not talking with a minor. I just think it has to be a choice.

In my opinion I don't think Sony will allow a service with that level of suggestive content to be associated with the Playstation brand. Sony pushed the line on Playstation Home with some of the clothing and kissing emotes but I think that's as far as they would go.
Remember one thing ; Neotopia may not be run by Sony BUT Mad Munki has to abide by an agreement with Sony to have the service on the Playstation 4.

No. Im not bullying or being rude to anyone for their opinion's, Tsunade. Let's not start that. I have respected everyone's opinion on the matter...and will continue to do so. I offer points and counter points to a very valid perspective. I dont think any one person, is entirely right...or wrong.

"Once word starts getting around that Neotopia has and "Adult server" people will start spreading word that Neotopia is just another porn avatar game and NOTHING more."

I dont think Second Life should be the ONLY platform to do what it does...just like I dont think HOME, GTA, FFXIV and every other popular medium, should be the ONLY mediums to do what they do. There's no reason to isolate anything, because of controversy. Did Home not have it's share of controversy, as well...over the years? Yet, noone condemned it for the risky and borderline things it got away with, during that time. Second Life does extremely well for itself, considering all this taboo talk of controversy. If it were as bad as everyone THINKS it is...I doubt it would continue to be a thriving platform, today. Obviously, Linden Labs and their developers are doing SOMETHING right, over there.

    But...that's just my opinion. ^_-

If I wanted a space like Second Life I would be on Second Life and not Home and I hope Neotopia never decides to even consider having an "adult server" I dont want random people walking up to me while im hanging out with friends and say "Hey, wanna go to the "adult server"?? AGAIN if that is the experience I want I would be using Second Life.

I already explained why and how it would ruin the reputation that Madmunki has worked hard to build within the community.

    OK.

Just makes no sense to me, to have seperate platforms for seperate experiences....when we can have ONE platform, offering an experience for everyone's tastes. Sounds to me like SOME people just want another Home2.0 with a heavy focus on social gatherings and casual activities.

And there's nothing wrong with that. I was just hoping for a platform that would brake the mold and go above and beyond those ideals. Instead of one that simply repeats the core experience we had on Home, for the past 6 years. We've been there, done that...and got the T-Shirt. (Literally. I even have my rare closed Beta T-Shirt. LOL) Neotopia has to be willing to evolve past the field of simply providing a place for people to meet up and socialize 24/7. And we cant do that, if we arent willing to take chances on things that have never been done...or have only been done once, as a rarity.

Reputations are relative to an ever-changing set of circumstances and variables. Avoiding risk for PR or to protect that reputation, isnt always a good strategy. And if anything, it establishes a set of parameters and limitations on vision, direction and creativity. It creates the stigma that certain things will never see the light of day, in favor of PR and reputation....and I dont think that is the right message to send, going forward on a platform that encourages imagination and creative freedom.

I dont think POTENTIAL...should be sanctioned, regulated and limited by the fears of reputation...the fears of bad PR...or the fears of others.

    Sorry...I just dont.

That would be an acceptable alternative...

...but how would you validate the age of anyone entering your personal space? Without proper validation, people will lie about their age. I've seen it multiple times, on Home. You need to make sure anyone invited to your space, will not be exposed to anything inappropriate...if they are minors. Otherwise, were back at square one...with the same issue. LOL

Just make it where anybody with no id under 18 can't buy or visit the personal space that is adult.
